Meet Dr. Cherie M. Atkins
Dr. Atkins developed her sense of customer service long before she became a dentist. As past
employee of Disney, she attended the Disney Traditions course at the Disney Institute in
Orlando, FL. "It was there I learned the upmost of guest care," she says. "Those representing
Disney are held to the highest standard of guest service. " Dr. Atkins puts that training to use
by creating a culture of comfort, compassion, and integrity at Flamingo Dental Escape, always
intending to go above and beyond patient satisfaction.
Dr. Atkins graduated from Georgia State University with a major in biology and a minor in
chemistry. She graduated from Howard University College of Dentistry in our nation's capital, in
2007 and completed her residency at St. Vincent Charity Hospital/Saint Luke's Medical Center, a
teaching hospital of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. She has been practicing
for over 16 years, dedicating part of that time teaching dental students at Howard University as
well as working in private practice. Dr. Atkins has been recognized for generous acts of service
and for providing full-time dental care and education in rural Kenya for the Maasai tribe.
Being able to provide both preventive and esthetic treatment for her patients is especially
gratifying for Dr. Atkins. "Not only can I help prevent oral systemic infections, I can also
help my patients
achieve the smile of their dreams." she says. An expert in enhancing facial esthetics, Dr.
Atkins has been certified as a master lip injector. She enjoys creating beautiful works of art
for both her younger and more mature patients, using Botox and dermal fillers, as well as facial
threads.
In her spare time Dr. Atkins enjoys hiking in the beautiful Georgia mountains, yoga and making homemade soap.
